Construction background required, must have prior grading/fine grading experience and supervisory experience in highway and airfield construction. Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.

Job Description

The Grade Forman (GF) will supervise the grading crew in performing fine grading , light balancing, and sometimes heavy grading in IHC’s Southwest Divison (SWD). Grading work will be done in conjunction with other IHC operations like treated or untreated bases, cement stabilized soils, and concrete paving. The GF will be responsible for achieving optimum utilization of equipment, materials, and labor, thus, maximizing production and minimizing costs in the area of assigned responsibility. All of this is to be accomplished in conjunction with practicing ethical business transactions, adhering to the corporate policies, values and beliefs while pursuing the company’s short and long range goals. 

The GF will work cooperatively with all other IHC operations in the production and placement of high quality subgrade. The GF is also responsible for the training and performance of all assigned subordinates on the grading crew.

Qualifications

3-5 years of relevant, progressively responsible supervisory experience in grading work on highway and airfield project(s) including extensive experience operating and maintaining earth moving equipment.

Self starter & educator

Possesses excellent organizational/coordination skills
